About Us

We Bear the Name of Christ

According to the pages of the New Testament, followers of Christ were called Christians (Acts 11:26). Peter said in reference to these people, “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf” (1 Peter 4:16).

The name “church of Christ” shows ownership; that is, the people (the church) belong only to Christ. The term “church of Christ” as it is used in the Bible never represents a building but rather it is always in reference to a people. We find that the name “church of Christ” is a Biblical reference bearing the name of Christ (Romans 16:16). There are other names that would be Biblical, such as “the body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:27), “the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10), or “the church of God” (1 Corinthians 1:2).

Because it is our desire to glorify God, we use the name “church of Christ.”  As the apostle Paul wrote, “Whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,...” (Colossians 3:17).  This is our goal in worshiping and serving the Lord Jesus Christ.

When You Visit

Friendliness is a natural response of a Christian. We believe that one of the basic foundational principles of Christianity is love and friendship toward others (Matthew 22:36-40). Following Jesus' examples, we recognize no sex, social or racial differences (Galatians 3:28). Jesus also showed us not to respect one person over the other on the basis of poverty or wealth (James 2:1-9).  Jesus is our superb example of friendliness in that He was compassionate toward all humanity, regardless of their status in life.  It is our hope you will be greeted and welcomed with the same loving spirit taught by Jesus. When you visit us, you will be our honored guest. You will be greeted with kindness and courtesy. Why not give us the opportunity to become your friend?
